Center Valley, Pa. - Bucknell's Lindsay Smith, the 2009 Patriot League Volleyball Scholar-Athlete of the Year, is one of 50 volleyball student-athletes named to this year's Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

A senior neuroscience major and religion and children's studies minor from Boulder, Colo., Smith posted a 3.75 grade-point average in the fall. She earned CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District honors, as she was selected to the second team.

Two Patriot League volleyball student-athletes posted 4.0 GPAs in the fall. American's Cassandra Ricketts, a junior biochemistry major, and Bucknell's Rachel Rodriguez, a junior accounting major, recorded perfect GPAs this fall semester.

Nine student-athletes from American made the Academic Honor Roll, the most of any Patriot League school. Bucknell placed eight student-athletes on the list, followed by Colgate and Holy Cross with seven each.

To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the semester of their sport's competition.
